“Ingvar! A Musical Furniture Saga” is a fantastical musical about the life and times of IKEA founder, Ingvar Kamprad, book and music by Klas Abrahamson and Erik Gedeon. A group of stockbrokers gather to tell Kamprad’s life and legend – from a poor boy in Småland to the leader of a global furniture empire. As Kamprad’s story builds, the lines of admiration and resentment begin to blur, leading the ensemble to question their own roles in a capitalist society. This pop opera features music in a variety of folk and contemporary styles.
